Honeycomb structure

The 5th QUICOM meeting took place at the premises of the Fraunhofer Development Center for X-ray Technology (EZRT) in Fürth, Germany on September 30th – October 1st.

By now WP2 (Detailed Specifications) and WP3 (Optimized micro-scale and meso-scale material characterization) are finished. Experiments carried out within the remaining WPs are progressing and new goals are being set. The results achieved are being exchanged amongst the partners specializing in different measurements. With regards to dissemination and exploitation, additional industrial users were considered for joining the QUICOM IIG and contacts with parallel projects were also discussed. The meeting was also an opportunity to set-up a short kick-off meeting for WP9 (Demonstration and Evaluation), which started on October, and dialogues were generated on the samples and processes to be considered for demonstration.

Finally, the consortium took a visit to the facilities of Fraunhofer which included the two-robot-based XCT system, as well as their high energy X-ray facility.
