Organisation profile:
EASN is the Association of the European Academia in Aeronautics research. It is governed by the Belgium Law for international non-profit associations and foundations. EASN’s main goal is to support the development of new knowledge, innovation and breakthrough technologies through fundamental research in Aeronautics. It also represents the Academia in ACARE and other EU forums and committees. EASN currently involves and has access to more than 10000 individuals from all European countries. The EASN members are classified according to their areas of expertise as well as their geographic location. In addition, the EASN Interest Groups form the scientific and technological cells of EASN consist of members with the same areas of expertise. EASN has signed cooperation agreements with AEROPORTAL and EUROMART, with respect to the exchange of information and research cooperation. The strategic partnerships of EASN as well as the wide spread of its members, allow EASN to disseminate Aeronautics related information to practically the whole Aeronautics community. The EASN Association is contractually linked to EASN Technology Innovation Services BVBA (EASN TIS), which is responsible administering and performing the EASN tasks in the frame of research projects. EASN, through EASN-TIS has participated and currently participates to a number of Level 1 EU funded projects either as dissemination manager or having a key role in the dissemination of the project results. Furthermore, EASN participated in two Level 2 projects.
Role in the project:
EASN’s main contribution in QUICOM will be the active support in project activities dealing with dissemination and exploitation of knowledge. In these areas, universities often lack resources and know-how. But as the effective dissemination of the project results as well as the successful exploitation are a key element for the success of a project, it is highly recommended to put emphasis on it. EASN can through its expertise and existing instruments and networks play an important role in this field. The main objective is to promote the exploitation of the project results, by spreading the knowledge incubated within the project to a wide audience form all sectors such as the Industry, SMEs, the Academia and research establishments, but also to the wider public throughout Europe.
