Research and Development of Carbon Nanotubes S.A.

Nanothinx S.A. is a Greek SME established in November 2005 focuses on carbon nanotubes (CNTs) production technologies, products and applications (www.nanothinx.com). The company has spun-off from the Institute of Chemical Engineering and High Temperature Chemical Processes (ICE-HT), one of the seven Institutes of the Foundation for Research and Technology, Hellas (FORTH). Nanothinx produces various types of Carbon Nanotubes (CNTs) according to the demand of specific applications (i.e. biomedical applications, membranes, etc.), that have to be well characterized.  Nanothinx boasts the ability to produce the highest “as – produced” nanotube purity (up to 98.5% for multi-walled carbon nanotubes - MWCNTs) at low production cost.  This is achieved by exploiting the patented proprietary production method and catalysts, specially developed in house by the research team of the company.

Funding

The project NanoXCT receives funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n° 280987.
