WP6 Objectives

WP 6 includes NanoXCT system development, design, production and integration of the key components, such as X-ray source and X-ray detector. The main aims are:

  • Create mechanically and thermal stable design of the complete instrument
  • Design object manipulator with necessary accuracy and stability
  • Design sample holder and positioning device
  • Provide proper integration of X-ray source and detector with associated electronics
  • Develop shielding enclosure corresponding to laboratory safety standards
  • Integration of Hard- and Software components


The project NanoXCT receives funding from the European Union Seventh Framework Programme (FP7/2007-2013) under grant agreement n° 280987.

NanoXCT success story

A success story on the NanoXCT project has been published on the EC's Horizon 2020 website, in the Projects stories section, titled "Peering into nano-objects – in 3D".


NanoXCT presented at AAAS 2015 in San Jose, CA, USA

 The NanoXCT project will be presented at the AAAS 2015 Annual Meeting about Innovations, Information and Imaging in San Jose, CA, USA.

The project coordinator will present NanoXCT within the session "I see, therefore I can" on Friday, 13 February 2015 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM in Room 230C of the San Jose Convention Center.
