Organisation profile:

The CEA-LETI, within the Technological Research Division of the French atomic energy commission (CEA), is the CEA's laboratory that develops the micro and nano technologies in the field of information, technology and health. Created in 1967 at Grenoble, CEA-LETI employs more than 1100 employees. CEA-LETI’s aim is to help the industries in increasing their competitiveness through technical innovation and transfer of its technological know-how. The “Detector” lab of the DTBS Department focuses on the study and development of detectors as well as X-ray and Gamma ray imaging system. The application fields are medical imaging, industrial inspection and security.

Role in the project:

CEA will act as leader of WP9, and will actively contribute to WP4, 6, 7. The main topics CEA is addressing are dual-energy and multi-energy techniques for tomographic acquisition geometries, modeling and simulation. CEA has a long experience in the development of dual-energy X-ray systems and the associated data processing methods for medical as well as NDT applications. More recently, CEA has investigated innovative X-rays techniques, especially multi-energy ones, based on recent developments of semiconductor detectors. These techniques will be integrated in WP4, 6, 7. CEA will also act as Technical Manager.
